How do I explain that this is a terrible idea? then you can always go in and fix the permissions in the future. I can create directories under "default" directory, but I can't create files (even with my simple account or with root on my PC). A couple suggestions and thoughts: -how about running the same rsync command again and then post some examples of the exact error message. -Maybe you could plug it into a windows have a peek here
I do not have a windows installation. I need to thrash nearly 1TB of music because of a dozen directories? Reconnecting... Before I started this thread...
