The work around is remarkably simple. Prior to doing anything with the new system, I completely backed up my system. (Mirror Image which is bootable.) I then installed system 10.5 on my computer.

You can not post a blank message. I really need my previous projects back or I will be spending a great deal of time trying to re-create them. (that is not making me a happy camper) Thanks. So it appeared as though it was not the fault of 10.5 or the installation of FCP on the new system.

I even had some old sequences that were imported through an autosave I had from a month ago. You can not post a blank message. I've gone through the usual motions of trashing prefs, repairing permissions, rebooting.

I've been working under the theory of "If it aint broke, dont fix it" for a while now with 6.0.2, but it looks like it's broken and needs fixin'. The first thing I installed after the new system was up and running was FCP Suite 2. HELP! Check to make sure that drive is formatted Mac OS Extended and not FAT32.

Reinstalling should be a last ditch effort and you don't really want to do that with a active projects in the mix. the subclip in my timeline doesn't show the motion project extension 5) I've cleared my pref for FCP and Motion but it still isn't linking 6) Using FCP 6.0.5 and QT Thanks so much for the help.

  • Even if you re-create the file verbatim using the same original media used to create the file, you will not be able to relink.

What should be FCPF was FPCF, AIFF was FFIA, and so on. I did it because Tiger was screwing up my FCP 3.0.4. Bring the media back in batches opening FC after each batch. Fortunately the data was recovered and we began to reinstall the system and core software, namely Final Cut Studio 2 (Final Cut Pro 6.05).

There doesn't appear to be any problems with FCP or the other programs in the suite, at this point. I can open FCP and open QT movies and they will play fine within FCP and out through my Kona, just no projects.
