I had the same problem .. unfortunatly I don't have another computer to check it with, but I'm really feeling like the chances of both discs from gamestop being screwed up is kinda slim...

I just uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it with the same affect. so i guess theres something wrong with my computer or my drives .. I don't think there's copy protection on the disk, but I'm not sure.

Swap DVD drives and try. Maybe it´s a copy protection issue with Securerom or maybe some burning tools? Very strange. Join Date Oct 2007 Location Canuckistan Actually Fallout 3's copy protection is present on the installer/launcher but not the actual game exe. My old PC had a dvd Drive and a separate burner. i think it might be just cause i tried to download the game prior to buying it possibly?? And patch it?If by scretch you mean uninstall the game and all the doodads that went with it, then yes, I think so. I finally decided to play all those Fallout 3 dlc´s that I bought but never played, and see what good mod´s are around. So if your Fallout 3 Game won’t start after installation. They couldn't figure it out either even after an hour on the phone, but my case is the only one they're aware of. Sign up for free! install on another computer (as previous guy suggested)2. The part that's killing me is that i actually traded in my first disc for another one hoping that was the problem yet it's happening even with the new disc.

so make sure there all gone. 2 make sure your cd/dvd drive is totally clean.
