Although it sounds stupid, I see this a lot! i believe i have found a solution, if your drive is in fairly good condition, and you haven't written anything to it since "the crash" or whatever. There is never really any high CPU usage just 100% disk usage. Check This Out

Do i have to replace the disk ? TestDisk will compare the MFT and MFT mirror (its backup). But I can not see option that refers to the $MFT. Write Testdisk Mbr Code To First Sector Does it say the volume is dirty?

so i can only assume the LLF didn't overwrite every sector -- and i shud use a disk wiper ? Sounds a bit extreme but i can't think how else to get rid of this bad MFT and MFT mirror, even after LLF !?? You need to buy a new drive to recover to anyway, and drives are very cheap compared to time and lost data...
